NAKA
I'm Naka! Welcome to Ichiban Salon & Day Spa! I have been in the industry for approximately 30 years and I love what I do. The most gratifying part of my career is that I can make people happy. There is nothing like the feeling of giving a client a cut and style that looks great and makes them feel wonderful about themselves.
Over the years I have been involved in numerous fashion shows, including The Cleveland Opera and Cleveland Ballet. My work has been featured in Cleveland Magazine and on many local television shows.
I am constantly keeping up with the latest trends and techniques through Kerastase and Bumble and bumble. I am thrilled that Ichiban carries these lines because "they are the finest products on the planet!"
CARMEN
I'm Carmen! I graduated from Skelly's Beauty Academy in August of 1990 and began my wonderful career at Ichiban in September of that same year. Wow - I just realized I've been year over 20 years! I never get tired of doing hair. I love meeting people.
I have extensive training in all types of cuts and styling techniques. I attended the Bumble & bumble school in New York and now specialize in razor cutting techniques. I am certified in the Japanese relaxer Bionic Straightening System and with Fusion Hair Extensions. The one thing I have learned from working with people all these years is that it is very important to listen to my clients because they know their own hair. With that, I offer advice and direction on styles that fit their specific lifestyle.
DOBRICA
Hi, I'm Dobrica. I've been with Ichiban over 10 years as a stylist. I love working with people and creating that "perfect" look for anyone who sits in my chair. My passion for style and fashion is reflected in the love I have for my work. I consider myself to be creative and very in touch with my clients. I can't imagine working in any other field.
The most rewarding part of my job is that I can not only be creative every day, but I can also help people feel confident in how they look and feel.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
RYAN
Hi, I'm Ryan and I'm a stylist at Ichiban. I graduated from The Ohio Academy Paul Mitchell Partner School where I was trained as a salon stylist, session stylist and in platform work. Upon graduating, I was chosen to enter an elite group called Phase II where I traveled to Chicago, New York and Columbus to learn advanced cutting and style techniques. I take an artistic view when cutting. I believe when cutting and styling hair, the stylist and client should
view the hair as a shape and sculpture.
During my career, I've assisted and learned different techniques from major fashion and beauty industries such as Angus Mitchel, Robert Cromeans and Stephanie Kocielski. I've even had the privilege of working fashion shows on both the east and west coasts.
MICHELLE
I'm Michelle and I'm a stylist at Ichiban! I've been in the industry since 1992 and actually started my career in South Korea. I feel very fortunate to have trained overseas because it allowed me to learn many different styles and trends and I view myself as being a very versatile artist. I received my full cosmology license in South Korea and was also certified in skincare and massage - but doing hair is my passion!
In 2004 I moved to the United States with my family. I wanted to continue my career in hair, so I obtained my license to allow me to do what I love the most - work as a stylist.
My favorite thing about being a stylist is that it allows me to be creative. I enjoy the before and after transformations on clients and mostly, I love making people happy and helping them feel good about themselves.
JOCELYN
Hi, I'm Jocelyn! I have been a licensed cosmologist for over three years and I come from three generations of hair stylists! After graduating from high school, I jumped right into attending The Academy in Fairview Park as a full-time student. Not only do I have the privilege of working with such multi-talented people at Ichiban, I am constantly learning new trends and techniques from them.
My goal as a young stylist is not only to inspire people through hairstyling, but through my love and passion of my art!
BARB
I'm Barb and I am both a stylist and colorist at Ichiban! I have been in the industry for many years and love what I do. I especially enjoy serving my clients who I consider to be family.
The most rewarding part of my job is the personal relationships that I have made throughout the years with my clients. I also enjoy learning about the newest trends and techniques of the industry. This is truly a fabulous environment at Ichiban and I love every aspect of my career here!
